Roadtrip to the Redwood Forest & Oregon Coast

This last weekend we were able to go with Erin's family to the Redwood forest and then drive up highway 101 up the Oregon coast all the way to Washington to the Columbia river and drive past Portland back home. We just took both of our cars and stopped wherever we wanted and just got a hotel wherever we ended up that night. It was pretty spontaneous, alot of fun. We had a hard time finding a hotel one night and ended up in a rinky dink room, but it was ok, made it a little more fun anyways. We drove for 4 days and saw some amazing stuff. Here's some pictures of the trip.

This is Crater Lake, a crater that was created by a volcanoe blowing the top off and a lake formed.

An island in the middle of the lake.

Redwood tree on the edge of the forest.
A banana slug on a Redwood tree.
Some Redwoods.

A crystal clear river in the forest.

The Rogue river in Oregon at sunset.

Beach in Crecent City California.
Erin with a Starfish.
The Aquarium in Newport Oregon. Some big crabs.
Wierd fish called the cow fish.
Don't know what this fish is called.
A big starfish with a beautiful woman.
A sea otter.
A wierd looking crab.
Here's our Camry caravan.
The Beach.
Sea Lions on the coast.
Girls on the beach.
Cool scenery.
Really cool.
A lighthouse where th Rogue river meets the ocean.
Steve talking to a fisherman about fishing the coast.
Some of his Albacore Tuna he caught.
The 4.1 mile bridge across the Columbia river.

Here's Herman the sturgeon at the Bonneville dam on the columbia river at a fishing hatchery. He's 11 1/2 feet long. it was so crazy. I couldn't get a great picture of him, he was soo huge though.

Here is the fish ladder at the dam that allows the fish to go through the dam. It's pretty sweet.

It was really nice to get a little vacation in before we started school. We haven't done anything till then it was nice to get some time off. It was a fun vacation.

Man, your pictures are amazing! Beautiful! I can't believe it, it reminds me that there are such pretty places elsewhere. I especially love the rocky ocean shoreline pictures. I wish I went with you! So cool!
