Oh Great....

Well, we had a great Christmas with the family, nice seeing everybody over in Idaho Falls. Then I had to be back to work by last Saturday. Erin doesn't have work or anything until the 4th, so she stayed over there and I will go get her on Friday. It's a week alone without the wife, so I knew it was going to be a little crappy cause it's always better when she's around. Maybe it's because I don't know what to do with my time off because I don't have anybody to tell me what to do, ha ha. No I don't like to be without her. But anyways, I went to work and on my lunch break I went home and after I got the dead bolt unlocked, I tried to unlock the doorknob but it froze, it wouldn't let me put my key in. It has been a pain for a while, but I have fixed it before with some WD-40, but it wasn't working now. It wasn't even that cold, just around 20 degrees. Well I tried to push the key in and my key snapped in half. So I shoved the rest of the key in since half of it was already in there and tried again and it would turn but not enough to unlock it or open it. Mind you this is my lunch break and I only have an hour to be back to work. It wouldn't open. There is no landlord at the complex, no number to call for help (the only number to the place is at the apartments and they are on vacation). I was getting cold and frustrated so what did I do? I reared back and plowed the door open. Doing so, I broke part of the door jam in half and ripped the metal bracket off the doorknob. Now I don't have a key to lock the deadbolt of the door. I had an extra doorknob from before, so I get it all put on so I can go back to work, put it all together and there are no keys to it. Great. Now I can't leave my apartment because I can't lock it and I have some sketchy neighbors right next to me. I had to call work and tell them I couldn't come back to work, wait until Monday and have the landlord fix it. No landlord came. I had to go as fast as I could to get a new door knob with a key so I can go back to work and leave my apartment. I knew it was going to be a crappy week, just thought it would give me a little time to work into it. We'll see what the landlord says when I can finally get ahold of them!!

THAT is hilarious.

Awesome. What is funny is that I was just thinking two days ago about whether I would be able to break a door down. Apparently you can.
