That's How Life Is

We have been going though a pretty busy time lately. Better to be busy than slow though. I was working a bunch because of the holidays and now that the new year has come, work is way slow. I was cut hours a bunch, but I am way lucky to have my job still as I watched others in my department who had been there longer were let go. School doesn't start up again till the 20th of January, so I am not doing much right now, just wishing work would pick up or school to start, either one. I feel alot better when I am busy, I get things done and progress a little in my life. Erin is working some at the school before our classes start, and she is preparing for her nursing program she is starting this semester. We have to buy her books for the whole two year program this semester, so that's kinda a kick to the face. $1,500 for her box of books. Good thing we have pell grants or we would be in trouble. Good thing we are investing our money in the best thing we could be right now, our educations in the medical field. Investing in anything other than educations seems to be a losing game right now at this time. Hopefully it'll turn around soon or hopefully we'll be strong enough to make it through these times.
We are so happy though. When you know you are doing what you are supposed to be doing, life seems to go alot smoother and blessings come in perfect timings. With Erin's books, I just went to the financial aid department at the school and asked if I could combine my leftover grant money with Erin's so we could get her box of books for nursing. She looked it up and as she did she saw that Erin qualified for some extra grant money from people that dropped out and lost their grant. An extra $400! Perfect timing for a blessing like that. You couldn't write a script better than that. That made me realize how I cannot afford to not do the best I can and follow the Savior. Life is truly difficult, and no one can do it on thier own. It's a great feeling to be humbled like that.

You guys ARE doing what you should be doing. You are investing in your educations and sacrificing NOW instead of waiting. You both are smart. Once you get into the "ruts of sacrifice and work" it really isn't that bad to be poor and going to school. Like you said, the business of it makes you feel good even though on paper or by looking at what you "have" one would think you should be miserable.

Thanks for your post on my blog about your family Christmas experience. I felt inspired and with ideas for next Christmas with my family! I love you bud. Keep it up and let me know if I can help.
